Woven patches are the cheaper solution in the mix for intricate 2D designs available in a limited spectrum of colors. It has a fine fabric-like texture with a smooth feeling and is machine-made. It comes with easy-to-attach methods like iron-on or with a more permanent approach like sewn-on. These patches are fully iron-safe and regular washing means no harm. It is relatively durable compared to the embroidered patches as there are little to no threads that are susceptible to sharp objects. They are the most popular thread-based patches in the market and are used for a wide range of products like uniforms, jackets, bags, headwear, etc.

MERROWED
This stitch type wraps around the outside of the patch, forming a wrapped thread border two to four millimeters wide.

The outer border of the design is stitched and the excess base cloth is cut away around the outside of the border by hand or machine.
FRAYED EDGES

This border has no stitching on the edge of the patch.
EMBROIDERED BORDER
